The ATV Rainbow Mountain tour begins very early at 04:00 a.m. with pickup from your hotel in a tourist minivan. We will travel south from the city of Cusco for approximately 2 hours until reaching the town of Cusipata.
Short Itinerary
- 04:00 a.m. – Hotel Pickup & Departure: Pickup from your hotel in a tourist minivan and a 2-hour drive south of Cusco to Cusipata.
- Morning – Breakfast & Transfer to ATV Parking: Buffet breakfast in Cusipata. Continued 2-hour drive along a narrow road via Pitumarca to the ATV parking area.
- Noon – ATV Ride & Hike to Vinicunca: Brief instruction on operating the ATV, followed by a 30-minute ride along a specially designed route with views of snow-capped mountains and Andean fauna. Short 10-minute walk to the Mountain of 7 Colors summit for photos and guide explanation.
- Afternoon – ATV Return & Buffet Lunch: Return ride on ATVs to the parking area and transport back to Cusipata for a buffet lunch.
- 05:30 p.m. – Arrival in Cusco: Return drive to Cusco city, arriving at approximately 05:30 p.m.
Detailed Itinerary
04:00 a.m. | Hotel Pickup and Departure from Cusco
The ATV Rainbow Mountain tour begins very early at 04:00 a.m. with pickup from your hotel in a tourist minivan. We will travel south from the city of Cusco for approximately 2 hours until reaching the town of Cusipata.
Breakfast in Cusipata
Upon arrival in Cusipata, we will enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast to recharge before continuing along the high-altitude route.
Transfer to Pitumarca and ATV Parking Area
After breakfast, we will continue our journey for approximately 2 more hours along a narrow mountain road passing through Pitumarca until reaching the parking lot where the ATVs (quad bikes) are located.
ATV Instruction & 30-Minute Scenic Ride
At the parking area, our staff will teach you how to use and safely operate the ATV. We will then start our 30-minute ride along a specially designed track, enjoying spectacular views of surrounding mountains, snow-capped peaks, and high-Andean wildlife.
10-Minute Walk & Exploration of Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain
After the 30-minute ATV ride, we reach the starting point of a short 10-minute walk to the summit of the Mountain of 7 Colors (Vinicunca). Upon reaching the top, you will have sufficient time to take photos and learn more about Vinicunca Mountain and its natural surroundings from our guide.
Return ATV Ride & Buffet Lunch in Cusipata
We will return along the same route riding our ATVs back to the parking lot. From there, our minivan transport will take us back to Cusipata, where we will enjoy a buffet lunch in the afternoon.
Return Journey and Arrival in Cusco (05:30 p.m.)
After lunch, we will board our vehicle for the final leg of the drive back to Cusco, arriving at approximately 05:30 p.m.
